Melissa graduated from Georgia State University’s Physical Therapy program in 1998. Since the beginning of her career as a PT, she has specialized in pediatrics, starting at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta and also working in Atlanta's Early Intervention program. She started her Washington, D.C. practice in 2004 as a solo practitioner and has grown her practice over the past twenty years to include both occupational and physical therapy. The primary focus of the practice is to maintain quality of service and to do this, she has focused on hiring and retaining excellent therapists. She often describes her work as scientific, but also heart work, as it takes a lot of love to work with pediatric clients.
Melissa’s own kids have grown up and flown the coop, so she now enjoys spending time with her spouse and two pets, Pippin and Merry. Melissa is essentially a home body and loves to garden and entertain friends and family. Occasionally she becomes brave and travels with her fearless travel companion, Greg.
Jackie graduated as a Doctor of Physical Therapy in 2019 from Virginia Commonwealth University after completing her undergraduate degree at Virginia Tech in 2014. Jackie pursued a career in physical therapy knowing that she eventually wanted to work with children and families, which is why she gained experience in a variety of pediatric settings, including: outpatient clinics, early intervention, acute care and the neonatal intensive care unit. Her favorite part about being a Pediatric PT is seeing parents and caregivers learn new strategies and become confident enough to implement those strategies outside of PT sessions, during their day-to-day routines with their child.
Jackie grew up in the northern Virginia area and currently lives in Del Ray, Alexandria. She has an 80-pound lap-dog named Mia that follows her almost everywhere. When she's not working, Jackie loves baking, traveling, and enjoying the company of family and friends.
